Obituary

Arlene Sarah Eggert, age 95, of Bellingham, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016. Arlene was born in Bellingham on October 30, 1920 to William and Valdena Johnson. She attended Lincoln, Sunnyland and Franklin Elementary Schools. Arlene graduated from Bellingham High School. On April 10, 1942 she married the love of her life, Marven Eggert. Arlene was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary, Women of the Moose, and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed volunteering at the Bellingham Food Bank for 10 years. Arlene was a life time member of Calvary Temple. She was preceded in death by her husband Marven on March 13, 2004; daughter Christine Martin; father William Johnson mother Valdena Moblo and step-father Lester Moblo. Arlene is survived by her daughter Leslie Jones; sons Chuck Eggert and William “Bill” Eggert; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Arlene’s family would like to thank Mt. Baker Care Center for their loving care of our Mother, Grandmother and Great-Grandmother. An Open House Celebration of Life will be held on Friday March, 18 12:30pm at Moles Farewell Tributes – Greenacres. Memorial donations can be made to the Bellingham Food Bank.

  1. Arlene was a wonderful & beautiful woman who was always so sweet to me & my daughter whenever we saw her. She will be missed by SO many people.

  2. Leslie, Chuck, and Billy, Suzie and I are sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. I will never forget the wonderful times I shared with her. Arlene was such an amazing woman and such a pleasure to be around. You have our deepest condolences and sympathies. Your mother will truly be missed and you can live with the memory that she was such a great person.
    There is a saying Helen Keller once wrote, “What we have once enjoyed, we can never lose. All that we love so deeply becomes part of us.” You all, including the grandchildren, great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews will be in our prayers as we remember wonderful Arlene.
