Obituary
Our beloved Mother passed away at home surrounded by her family on February 27, 2017.
She was born on January 25, 1935 in Mission City, B.C. to Nicholas and Marie Stech. After marrying Carroll Gustafson in 1952, they made their home and raised a family in Bellingham.
Annie retired from the Bellingham School District after 25 years. She enjoyed her retirement traveling, painting, gardening, volunteering, the last few years she enjoyed her backyard chickens. But her biggest joy was spending time with her family and friends.
Her husband preceded Annie in death in 2000. She is survived by two sisters and her children; Carol Hamilton, Barbara Forstrom (Stan) and Cary Gustafson (Kimberly). Also Grandchildren; Ryan Forstrom (Carly), Amy Hall (Evan), Carter Gustafson and 4 Great grand daughters.
A special thank you to Bert Bevins and Willie DeLaura for all the love and care they have shown to our family.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 1pm on Sunday, March 5th with a graveside service and reception at Moles Greenacres (5700 NW Dr, Ferndale).

We will miss “Grannie Annie’s” delightful laugh and her kindness. I will never forget the amazing batch of cinnamon rolls she delivered to our house when the boys were all recovering from the flu. We were blessed to have her as our neighbor for so many years.

Annie was a member of the Assistance League of Bellingham, and was one of those of us who volunteer time in the Thrift Shop. She was a reliable member of the team until she became ill. She was always cheerful and helpful, and a delight to work with. We will miss her!!

To Carol and all of your family,
I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. Know that I am thinking of you and wish you peace and comfort as you go through this difficult time. I can’t know how you are feeling but I’ve gone through the loss of my parents and I remember well how I felt. I pray you will feel the love and caring of your friends, your mother’s friends, and your family in the next days and months.
Shalom,
Gaye.

I was so sorry to hear about Annie’s passing, but knew she was not well. I am Bert and Willy’s daughter that would visit occasionally. Annie was such a wonderful person and had a great sense of humor. On my last visit, we discussed her chickens at length. She always brought something terrific to eat that she had prepared and had many things to talk about. I will really miss her. My condolences to her family.
