Annemarie Franziska Carlson (Knapp) April 26, 1939-November 15, 2021
Anne-Mom, age 82, devoted wife and mother, passed away at home on November 15th, 2021 after a long battle with dementia. We were able to bring her home during her last day, so she could be around her family, and friends.
Mom was born in 1939 in Dieburg, Germany during the beginning of WWII. She had met the love of her life Lowell on February 2nd, 1958, as he served his country overseas. Before coming to the US, she immigrated to Canada in February of 1959 to stay with her sister Katrina in Port Alberni, B.C. where they were later married on April 24th. In August of the same year, mom then immigrated to the US, where she raised her family, worked as a dental assistant, and was actively involved with the Catholic Church. Mom was kind, practical, down to Earth, and loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren.
Mom was preceded in death by her father during WWII, her mother Maria, her sister Katrina, and her two brothers Wilhelm, and Gustel. She is survived by her husband Lowell of 62 years, her brother Paul, numerous relatives in Germany, her three children, Stephan, Linda (John), and Paul, four grandchildren, Felicia (Allen), Cecilia, Monika, Lucas, and three great grandchildren, Kamryn, Casey, and Tylar. We will miss you Mom!
Graveside services will be held at Enterprise Cemetery in Ferndale on Wednesday, November 24th, 2021 at 10:00 am. There will be a memorial service to be scheduled in early 2022. We would like to thank her caregiver, Iqbal, for her amazing care, and love during the last four years of her life. In lieu of flowers, Mom would appreciate a contribution to Catholic Community Services on her behalf, to support their youth services.

My heart goes out to all of the Carlson family. Ihave so many memories of Anne. Bingo, the Glen, sleep overs almost every weekend. She was loved. Rest in peace

My Aunt Anne was a big part of my life growing up. So many of my happy childhood memories involve her. Wonderful, kind, and caring. How lucky I and the rest of the family were to have her! From “little Ann” to “Big Anne,” rest in peace. Love you.

What great memories of being neighbors on Beulah and Thornton, have many stories to share, that were always full of humor and being friends like family. Anne was also a great bowler, and I loved her dedication to her German family and how she kept her homeland as her home also. Our heart goes out to family and relatives, she was a very special lady and we are so glad to be part of her life. Steve and Norma
