Obituary

Bellingham, WA

Angela Ann Roderick was gifted to Tony and Char Roderick on November 21, 1994 in Bellingham, WA. On October 22, 2013, she was called home to heaven and greeted with open arms by her great-grandmother Maxine and her aunt Cary, who both preceded her death in 2002.

Angela was a 2013 graduate of Meridian High School. With her daddy at her side, and with the support of family and friends, Angela excelled in athletics, a strong sense of self, leadership skills, and motivation to do the right thing.

Angela loved to play girls fast-pitch. It wasnt just because of the game, the challenge, and the sportsmanship, but also the sense of camaraderie.

Angela was excited for the opportunity to follow her own rainbow, find that pot of gold, and leave her mark on the world. She knew her mom had her on a 5-year plan for grand-babies, and time was already ticking.

Without knowing, Angela had already made her mark on the world. She was very passionate; she loved hard and she fought hard. Angelas loyalty to family and friends, her naturally kind demeanor, and her willingness to accept people for who they were helped her make it over the rainbow. Whether she knew it or not, she had found her pot of gold, it was in that great big heart of hers. We will never forget her contagious laugh or that smile that could light up a room. The Roderick family game nights and karaoke time will never be the same.

Aside from her parents, Angela is survived by her sister Gabrielle Roderick, brother Chase Johnson, fraternal grandfather Lawrence Roderick and his partner Charlene Bartlett, fraternal grandmother Carolyn Roderick and James Hicks (lovingly known as Mr. Hickey), and her paternal grandparents Jack and Amie Erdman. She will also be greatly missed by her aunts and uncles; Lori Larkin, Cathy Woods, Carrie Roderick, Kristi Meck, Susan Martinez, Edith Coulthard, Patty Bradt, Bonnie Kingery, Michael Cotier, Bobbi Jacobson, Vicky Perez, and Malinda Cummins, along with their spouses and many, many very close cousins, great-aunts and great-uncles.

We would like to send a special thanks to her friends, coaches, teachers, and honorary family members who helped us raise and mold her into the beautiful woman she became.

Angela is still here guiding us, as her mission has not ended.

Camping will not be the same without you Angela. I will miss seeing your big smile from across the camp fire. Thank you for letting me share a part of your life ..

  2. I spent so many years hearing so many great stories of Angela from her loving mother. I almost felt like I was part of her teenage years. My heart is broken for the entire Roderick family. Angela I can say that you are truely loved by your parents and the pride and joy that you brought your mom was so evident. She beamed with pride when she spoke about you. You will be missed by so many people who’s life you may not have even known you touched.

As the aunt of Madeline Gray I would just like to say that this tragedy has left a void in all her friends lives that can never be filled. God Bless you and your family. As I have been told after losing my husband in May Angela will always be with you in ways you have not experienced yet. That spot in your heart that she always had will never be gone, Her spirit and Love will guide you through your toughest days and you find yourself smiling at some of the the most wonderful times you had with her. Blessing, Diana Gray
