Obituary

Allison William “Bill” Hamer Jr. passed away in Olympia, WA on June 28, 2017.

Bill was a lifetime resident of Bellingham. He was a graduate of Bellingham High School, then served 2 years in the U.S. Navy. He retired from Uniflite Boat Builders in Fairhaven after a long career there.

In his younger years, he enjoyed a variety of activities. He put his career skills to work building his own boats, the best of which was a 21-foot cuddy cabin cruiser to spend time fishing on Puget Sound. He was also an avid golfer and could often be found out on the courses in Bellingham or at Similk Beach in Anacortes. Bill also enjoyed duck hunting and upland game bird hunting. His favorite indoor activity was roller skating.

Bill Hamer was a kind and generous man who was liked by all people and animals who were fortunate enough to meet him.

Bill is survived by several nieces and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Allison (Al) and Inga Hamer; his brothers, Wayne Hamer, Dick Hamer; his sister, Laura Raleigh; and his only nephew, Larry Raleigh.
