Obituary
Adah Lu Christensen, 90, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, at Spring Creek Memory Care in Bellingham, Washington.
Born in Omaha, Nebraska, on April 27, 1935, Lu moved to Oakland, California, with her mother and sister. She attended Piedmont High School and later enrolled at Oregon State University, where she met and married Robert Christensen. They were married for 32 years.
Lu was a devoted homemaker and worked for many years at St. Joseph Hospital and the Bellingham Surgery Center. She also gave her time as a volunteer at St. John’s Lutheran Church.
She purchased her home on Kulshan Street in Bellingham, where she lived for over 30 years. Above anything Lu loved and cherished her children. She also had a special place in her heart for dogs—her last dog, Gracie, now lives with her daughter Karen.
Lu enjoyed cheering on the Seahawks and the Huskies, solving jigsaw puzzles, reading a good book, and indulging in potato chips and beer.
She will be remembered for her warmth, devotion to family, and the simple joys she cherished.
Lu is survived by her son, Robert (Sokhan) Christensen Jr; Daughter, Karen (Robert) Weidkamp; Son, Todd (Kristi) Christensen; and her 6 grandchildren, Chhouk Sanh, Keo Sanh, Jesse Weidkamp, Shea Morrow, Courtney Morrow, and Zachary Christensen.
She is preceded in death by her father, John Christlieb; mother, Ruth Christlieb; brother, John Edward Christlieb; Sister, Alice Joan Christlieb; and her grandson, Jeremy Weidkamp.
She will be deeply missed.
